Weekly Economic Report
Three big reads out of China all indicate that the locomotive of the global economy is indeed pulling out of the station. Meanwhile, the trade war between the US and China appears to be winding to a close. Comments from both sides indicate that the thorniest issues of forced transfers, intellectual property, and application of penalties for violating the agreement are moving toward agreement. The lack of negotiation in the press suggests real work is being done behind the scenes. We continue to believe that an agreement will be signed at the G20 conference in Osaka on June 28-29.
