This week’s letter is going to be a little different for a number of reasons. First, this is the weekend before September 11th and long-time readers who know my story from 22 years ago understand why I take a vacation this week. Second, my son is celebrating his 31st birthday – September 11th – and, yes, I missed his ninth and have been making up for it ever since. Third, it was a bit of a slow week, though the stronger than expected services ISM kept up the drumbeat of better-than-expected economic news. Fourth, the big event is next week, with the release of the CPI in the lead up to the FOMC meeting on September 19-20 – which will bring an updated Summary of Economic Projections. We will have a lot more to say about the outlook after that.
