Mike Wharton is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Manager of McVean Trading & Investments, LLC (“McVean”). He was personally recruited by McVean’s founder, Charles D. McVean, and he has been with McVean since its inception. He is also the Managing Member of Wharton Asset Management, LLC, a commodity trading advisor registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (“CFTC”). Originally from Nebraska, Mike literally grew up in the cattle business. His late father retired as a vice president of Spencer Beef Packers and was a forty-year veteran in the beef industry. Mike has excelled both as a trader and as an analyst. His detailed supply/demand analyses by region of the highly segmented livestock industry, as well as his in-depth knowledge of and contacts in the international grain/oilseed markets, are essential components of McVean’s success.
